The Micro Provenance range is an exploratory series of casks, specifically selected to examine the evolutionary influences on maturing Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky – the variables of age, vintage, wood, barley, storage location, humidity, heat and climate – investigating the very essence of provenance. Conceived by legendary master distiller Jim McEwan, this bottling program was designed to explore the subtle, intricate effects of specific casks, barley varieties, and aging conditions on Bruichladdich’s unpeated spirit. Distilled using heritage Optic barley, this particular expression spent over 23 years maturing in a single fresh bourbon cask.

Distilled 22nd May 1992 and bottled 24th July 2015 from cask 12/210 048. One of 225 bottles.
